Get to know Evan…

When I was a little kid, I loved going to the aquarium with my grandparents. On one trip, my grandmother gave me a Kodak disposable camera. She taught me how to look through the little plastic viewfinder and wind the film after every shot. Then, we went to Walmart after leaving and got my first roll of film developed. I obsessed over these photos. Seeing these moments immortalized on little, glossy pieces of paper excited me like nothing else.

In 2019, I started at Oklahoma Baptist University. Wanting to make friends and having an interest in filmmaking, so I joined the student TV news club. Seeing footage I shot used to tell stories gave me a sense of excitement reminiscent of that trip to the aquarium.

Shortly after, I changed my major to Journalism and Mass Communications and never looked back. Sophomore year I took my first photography class and the game changed even more. I knew quickly this would be the medium I’d focus my studies and career on.

As a Christian, I believe God is to thank for directing me into a career in which I have been blessed with opportunities to capture moments of joy for couples as well as just be in nature in a unique way.
